Description

Tuesday, 23rd August, 14:00 – 18:00 (alternative reserve date in case of rain will Tuesday 6th September)
Invitation only event open to artists

Join Sue England, Denmans’ Artist-in-Residence, for a session with fellow artists exploring the spaces, textures, colours, and forms in the Garden.  Even if your art practice is not normally ‘plein air’, embrace the challenge presented by this beautiful and stimulating environment.

This could be a sketching opportunity, a starting point and way of collecting ideas, or just an opportunity to spend some time painting outside engaging with like minded people. Sue will be on hand to offer insight and advice, but this will not be a tutored session.

Participants to meet at Clock House for a welcome and introduction by Sue before venturing in the garden and finding a space in which to work.

The Workshop will end on the terrace at Clock House with a glass of wine and a look at the afternoon’s results; an opportunity to gain some insight into how others have interpreted this lovely space.

Please bring your own materials – paper/canvas/easels etc. (Sue will have a limited amount of materials available to help you if necessary)

Cost of the workshop is £35 and all proceeds from the event will go to the John Brookes-Denmans Foundation

Tea and coffee available for purchase in the Cafe.  Drinks and nibbles at the end of the session included. Free parking available

Participants will receive a complementary ticket to the John Brookes lecture on Art and the Garden on Sunday 9th October 2022
